Driftwood preparation

Well I went out and found and old tree that fell over and cut off some very pretty pieces from the roots for my mini m. Some were still wet inside, I'm boiling them in a crawfish pot right now and will do for two hours total and I've also scrubbed them pretty clean. Being they were not completely dried out are there any other things I need to do to them? TIA

I would change the water at least once during the boiling process, I don't think you really need to do much else.

Pressure washer or I have even heard of people using their dishwasher, no soap of course.

That's a fantastic idea. I might clean my BB algae covered driftwood in the dishwasher with one cycle with some bleach and two cycles with just water. Anyone see a problem?

Thanks guys. How about bark? I found some oak branches that had collected under a bridge. Thet aren't rotten and are pretty clean except have a small amount of bark here and there. Shouldn't cause a problem in the tank hu? The roots I cut were of a different tree and looked kind of odd so I did away with them. I have already boiled and scrubbed these too. Look a lot more natural also...

I just picked up some dead fall around my house, one especially nice piece I started to prepare. Looking around for info, I decided on soaking it for a day in saltwater, then I stripped the bark manually, rinsed it thoroughly, and am now soaking it until it sinks (if ever).
