Has anyone got any firsthand experience with the CO2 injection kit offered by Fish-vets.com ? This seems like a good deal if in fact it is a good setup. Thier add reads: COMPLETE CO2 kit is fantastic value. With it you get a 2 gauge regulator, a solenoid valve, a needle valve, a check valve, a laboratory handcrafted glass CO2 diffuser ( Amano style), and a CO2 resistant tubing kit. Purchased seperately these would cost $247.50. Offered by us for 3 months at above price. Compare the features and the quality.

Maybe I should put this on my Christmas list????

It seems to be a pretty good value. Have you been looking around for prices on other systems? The only thing that makes me leery about it is that I don't know any one that uses it. You could probably put one together for less. But thats just me,I enjoy tinkering around with stuff. Don't forget you still have to get a tank and co2 which will probably set you back another $100 ,depending on the size of the tank.

wow ! That looks pretty good too. I'm looking for the cheapest way to get there from my DIY 2 lire bottle setup, and end up with a dependable setup. I know.... anything good is not also cheap, but it can be ecconomical I hope. My 55 is starting to show a bit of promise and I don't want to spoil that now. I'm sure you understand . :hehe:

update: In continued efforts searching for cheap equipment, I've found a source for a 2 gauge regulator for $42. I have emailed them inquiring about the remaining needed items, if they are available, and if so, at what prices. I'll keep you informed. :hehe:

Hey! I found one at Harbor Freight for $29.99. I'm trying to go from my DIY CO2 setup to a pressurized setup as well.
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=47259

What else would be needed? Is is more cost effective to go with the CustomAquatic.com 89.00 setup because it comes with needle valve, bubble counter, and solenoid valve?

The regulator from harbor freight has the wrong connector on it. That style connector is for argon/CO2 mix which is used in mig welding. I have that style regulator on my fish tank now but had to get an adaptor to adapt it to straight co2 bottle. Probably not worth the effort. I did it because the regulator was free. I think the stup from Custom aquatic is a no brainer at $89. You can't even get a good quality regulator for that price. They give you a regulator, needle valve,solenoid valve and a bubble counter for $89. Alls you need is a reactor and and some tubing and your good to go. Plus the CO2 tank of course. With the solenoid valve you can hook it up to timer to shut it off at night or a PH controller. I think its a good deal.

I have researched lots of angles to get me to a preasure tank setup and that link from M.Lemay looks mighty good for the money. I have put that on my list for "Santa" this year. I also found a 5# Aluminum tank on eBay for $79. To complete the setup I found plans to build a PH/CO2 controller while reading at "The Krib", built with parts from Radio Shack for under $20. I can't wait to start gathering parts and get to work! The only thing I have yet to find is a local supply to fill the bottle. :hehe:

Yeah, it is tricky to put stuff like a pressurized CO2 system on my Christmas likst because I'm not sure my family will get the right type!

My youngest child is 32 so that isn't a problem here.... besides, it would come from my wife... I order it, she pays for it. you, on the other hand would have to print out what you have decided on and present it to the most likely sucker, er Santa's helper. :hehe:

I'm glad I held off on buying that tank. I found a 10# tank on eBay last night for $85. It should be on its way to me as we type. :hehe:

Hi all;
Just got the $89 CO2 kit from customaquatic.com . Look very well made. And seems to work good. I put it on my 20# CO2 tank and tested it in a bucket of water (my tank is not set up right now). It seems to be a good deal ( regulator, solenoid, bubble counter, and needle valve ) for $89. I'm happy, now I can't wait to get my tank set back up.
