Stems melting towards the bottom

This is happening mostly on my hygro brown....and its kinda bugging me since I really like this plant and like where I have it in my tank.

My substrate is Eco complete...not the best I know but it gets the job done at least.

Lighting is 4 t5ho, still playing with how long to have what on, but I have two different sets of 2 and 2 on different timers.

EI dosing as well and plentiful root tabs. Only thing I don't have is functioning co2 on this tank yet (check valves are evil things) so that might be a big part of the problem.

Any other recommendations or tricks though? I really would like this plant to do well and grow in thick, it looks good alongside h. corymbosa.

Unfortunately it is usually common for stems to melt when put in a substrate. All I can recommend is that you leave it floating until it grows roots, then trim the plant to where the roots are and plant.

Its pretty new, maybe only a week old in my tank.
If it keeps comming up, I might just let it float tbh.
Only other plant giving me issues is L. inclinata var. Pantanal....which I hear is KNOWN for being a pita so I expected that
Only got my blyxa to stay put with the use of mesh

Hm, my Tonina melted at the bottom when I first got it. It didn't get unrooted and is growing really well now. I'd say that this is typical, but I'll be able to tell why I get some brown hygro this week.
