Which type of moss???
Hello, so this might be a silly question because it might make no difference whatsoever to shrimp, but I was wondering if anyone had an opinion as to which type of moss shrimp prefer. I was going to add a piece of stainless steel mesh with moss growing across it like a carpet into my heavily planted tank for the shrimp. I have about 150 red cherry shrimp. Does it make a difference as to what type of moss I use or is Flame moss just as good as Java moss as Christmas Moss? Thanks for your help with this.

I don't think it makes any difference. The flame moss might be harder to climb on for the shrimp since it's vertical??? but I dunno. I've never had a shrimp turn down moss.

For me in Neo conditions, Flame and Fissidens grow better on mesh laying flat and the shrimp seem to prefer the Fissidens.

I have about 7 different mosses in my tank, and I find shrimp on all of them at any given time. And nothing is hard for those buggers to climb.....they hang upside down on my floaters!

Fissidens Xmas and weeping are my favorites but the cost to get a good amount to get a carpet going would cost some $$$$. Where java is cheap

Shrimp disregard asthetics so choose whichever pleases your eye. Taiwan looks fantasic and grows quicker than the more exotic ones. Java if left to grow to maturity looks beautiful and is one of the faster and easier to propagate mosses.

Thank you everyone for all of the responses. Is it possible to get java moss to carpet or is it more of a free spirit? Also how should I get moss to carpet? Just wrap it on as mesh like I would on a piece of drift wood? Or a piece of stocking like a hair net or something different? Ps I'm sorry if this is bordering on a plants topic now instead of shrimp. :-/
