26g rimless bow cold water riparium Pics

I wanted to do something somewhat simple compared to my other tank I have collected a lot of stuff I don't need so I decided to figure out a new home for my axolotle this should be perfect for him

26g bow and stand were laying around
T5ho 2x24 glow fixture I already had
I have a magnum hob canister filter I got for free that I will be putting tubes on and mounting under the tank
I still have to finish reselling it after de rimming it
I'm going to try and use sponge holders as planters and I'm still looking for some styrafom as well

This is what I started with

And the future resident

Let me know if you have any suggestion I'm still not sure about plants

thats a sweet axolotle dude. are you currently keeping it with fish?

No from what I read any fish I keep with him will become food or nip at his gills

No no jumping yet I did have to switch out my Jerry rigged canister for a sponge filter the flow was blowing him around too much

I had to drive out of town(about 100 miles) to a reptile expo to pick him up. I can get the brown/green and the orange ones locally but the pink one at the time was hard to find I paid 60 for him

These pics are actually a couple months old I have a newborn so not much time for anything but wc's and dosing my tanks I will will try to get more pics up Tomorow. These are the day it was planted.

I'm having a little issue with green algae I have to use a sponge filter( I think). Axolotles can't have much flow at all in the tank they get stressed very easily. I'm sure this algae is due to lack of flow is there any other way I can get rid of it. It's only growing on the floating riccia mat
