Co2 setup

I justed a planted tank, and want to setup a co2 system. I have researched and found the follow setup will be enough for me:

Diffuser: ATOMIC CO2 DIFFUSER - 70MM Click here

Regulator: GLA GRO CO2 REGULATOR Click here

I have two questions regarding these two items:

1. The Atomic Co2 Diffuser has different MM, ranging from 35 to 70MM. What is the difference? Is there another type of diffuser I should be getting?

2. With the diffuser and the regulator, what else is needed for the setup to work? (co2 tank, i already have 5lbs)

Thank you!

How large is your aquarium?

The different sizes of diffusers are for different sized aquariums; typically, larger discs are for large raquariums.

Regarding your second question, you will require some airline tubing, and some check valves. You may also want a CO2 drop checker for an easy visual check of how much CO2 is in your water column.

I have a 30 gallon tank at the moment. I only recently set up the tank, but want to get everything set up.

Regarding the airline tubing, I believe I can purchase that from their web site.

Can you please let me know what kind of check valves, and co2 drop checkers I would need? Are those expensive?

Check vales and drop checkers are things that can be very cheap or very expensive. Check valves are available as samples or can run more than $20. Drop checker are something to study a bit more on to decide. Very nice for $50 or down and cheap for $5-10? They all work much the same but nice glass costs far more than plastic. It is the fluid inside which changes colors which really matters most to many.

I'll take some pics tomorrow. Everything is setup except the tank. I got it today but I have to get it filled and everything was closing by the time the postman got here. I just need some o-rings Teflon tape and the co2 and I'll be up and running. The regulator is an amazing piece of hardware and everything looks to be top quality.

Great, cant wait to see.

I heard that with GLA, teflon tape isnt needed, and is actually frowned upon?

Well I just emailed GLA and they confirmed it... Do not use Teflon tape on paintball canisters. Some YouTube videos need editing!

Thanks for the heads up. (Thanks Marco at GLA too)
