Fish murder, guilty :(

Was moving my fish to my new 40B, one of the endlers was too fast and tried to corner him with my net. Ended up crushing him. I thought he was just dazed and when I put him back in the tank but he just went downhill. Had to put him down.

It sucks but it happens. We have all killed a few fish at some point.

Endlers especially. Those buggers just will *not* get out of the way.

I've learned to check the tank a couple hours after working on the breeding tank (also my excess plant/wood/rock/whatever storage tank) for injured or dead ones.

My cories are almost as bad, but large enough that I can see 'em and count them to make sure they're out of the way of any re-scaping.

The endlers were the most diffucult ones to catch. After losing one, his other buddy decided to jump out of the holding bucket and it took me a good 5 minutes to find him.

The cories, cherry barbs and the otos did not give me much grief.

That's not murder, it's fishslaughter at worst. Reduced sentence.

But "slaughter" sounds so much worse than "murder".

Get charged with murder and have them reduce it to manslaughter and you will appreciate the difference.
