New 65G Planted Tank Fish Checklist..Please Advise

This will be my first planted tank and I am discovering that there are a lot more things to think about like what fish will eat my plants. It will be low to medium light, no CO2.

My question is about fish and if the following are suitable for a planted tank or will they eat my plants.

Rubber Lip Pleco
Neon Tetras
Long Fin Red Minor Tetra
Rasbora Heteromorpha Danio
Red Wag Platy
Mystery Snails
Zebra Danio
Cory Catfish
Guppies

I really wanted black mollies but I hear they will eat up my plants. As it is, I'm leaning toward mostly guppies.

Mollies are rapidly taking over my tank, lol. They don't seem to like to consume their own fry. With any livebearing species, I would highly consider some predators. Something big enough to control fry, but not so big that it will eat up all your adults.

Edit: mollies will probably not harm any plants, I've never noticed any damages.

Don't. Do. Live bearers. As the previous post said they multiply rapidly. I started with 6. End up with 60

I has a dozen guppies--then several hundred ugly guppies. Then I got some piranhas. No more guppies.

BUt piranhas are boring

I've had some black mollies I could not keep around plants, and some who could care less about plants.

Check out gold ring danios. After looking at your fish list, it looked like you were looking for something you could keep in a group, would be active, do well in planted tanks (obviously), and relatively easy to care for. The gold ring danio ticks all those boxes, is a little less common than a zebra danio, black molly, or neon, so it makes for an interesting conversation piece, and the best part is they are absolutely gorgeous. Theyre not quite as flighty as zebra danios but theyre still very energetic swimmers that hang out in the open all the time.

Good luck with the new tank and definately check out gold ring danios if your looking for a cool fish.
