Anybody feed Golden Pearls?
Just curious if anyone feeds Golden Pearls to their shrimp? Ordered something from a seller on AB and he sent the wrong thing, He's fixing the order but has told me to keep the Golden Pearls and am curious if anyone here feeds it. From what I read it floats, so not sure how popular it will be in my tanks, though the neos will have no issues running for it I guess.

I dunno Jaime but golden pearl is mainly protein so is that good for shrimp? Interested to know tho since I have a big jug of it left from raising fry

I wouldn't... It would quickly foul water, it's basically powdered meat, it's good for fish fry, since you're changing water every day or every other day anyways.
What size did you get? |

I keep Cherries in my Rasbora breeding tanks and that's one of the foods (various sizes) I feed the youngest fish.
Cherries will often snag a piece. Just doesn't do much for the shrimp diet. Have never had it foul my water, as Golden Pearls tend to take a bit of time to break down when compared to other similarly sized foods like Hikari Micro Pellets.

It's the larger size (size 1 on the bag). Heck, will my bettas eat it? I was thinking of trying a couple of little granules tonight in the PFR/ Cray tank since at least the PFRs are known to run to the surface to snag food.

Yep, your Bettas will likely really enjoy it.

Ahh, larger size might be fine, I've only used the 200 micron, which is like a fine powder.
But, it is 99% meat, so careful |
