How much Metricide do I dose?

I've started using Metricide 14 in my 20L tank. The only thing I'm trying to accomplish is a DHG carpet. The only problem is that I'm not positive how much I should be dosing. I've been using it for about 2 weeks, but I haven't seen much of an impact. I've been dosing roughly 4mL/day. Any input would be helpful as I 1) don't really know what I'm doing, and 2) don't want to waste the product if I'm dosing too much.

Also, please include your reasoning behind the dosing amount so that others can benefit from the thought process behind it.

Not the best looking tank, but I haven't been able to find a proper rock to put in front of the powerhead in the corner. Also, I need to add a couple other pieces of wood to fill out gaps, but I've been lazy.....

Excel dosing is basically 1ml/10gal daily or every other day. Met 14 is 60%, so you should be dosing 60% of that, or 0.6ml/10gal, so 1.2ml/20gal daily, so you are highly overdoing it.

Light and trace ferts or root tabs or going to be the deciding factor in how well the DHG grows ,and that will determine how much carbon the plants need.

What kind of lights are you using for it, length, etc? Root tabs + DHG = happy. They are a huge root/runner plant, so getting the nutrients where they need them is helpful, especially using aquasoils or something with a high CEC as well.

The lights are 2 17w fluorescent lamps in a 2ft home depot shop fixture (http://www.homedepot.com/Lighting-Fa...1#.UP8I_x3LQmY). Substrate is flourite black (not sand). I have some flourish root tabs on hand that I could use. Thank you for your input, and sorry for making two threads.

The flourite is good, it has a CEC content, get some root tabs in there around the DHG, it will thank you for it. My DHW is 2x13W CFL's, excel, root tabs and I'm already getting runners and seeing new plants sprouting up after only 3-4 weeks. I know without CO2, it will take probably 4-6 months to fill in my tank, but that's fine with me.
