Does Garra Rufa eat blue green algae?

when I was visiting one of my favorite LFS's, I asked about blue green algae. the manager there said that the tap water lately has caused a lot of blue green algae problems and suggested a few things and one of them happened to be to introduce a fish called Garra Rufa into the tank. this LFS doesn't usually lie or anything and they are pretty trust worthy but I always prefer to do some research before I make a purchase on a fish. so does garra Rufa eat BGA? or will it just nibble on it?

I'm pretty sure that nothing eats BGA.

I can believe that because BGA is a bacteria correct? cyanoa or something like that.

had to go look and found garra Rufa are the little fish they put in posh spas to pick your feet clean!

Can Garra ruffas be kept with shrimp?

the only thing that will eat BGA are things that eat biofilms. BGA is pretty similar to most biofilms and even creates its own. its probably the main reason many types of shrimp will eat it.

i culture it and often feed it to my cherry shrimp.

now, if garra rufa eats biofilm...
