Crypt Carpet
I've heard about these recently, how do you do these? And is it only certain species of Crypts like parva? Would this be possible with Wendtii?

My little clumps of Crypt parva are spreading well in the lightly shaded part of my high light tank. In the open they weren't doing well. I think that if you have the patience, they'd be a gorgeous carpet plant. I also have another crypt I can't identify that's staying about 2 inches in diameter and has been sending out runners making a bit of a carpet.

I guess i have what might be called a 'carpet' of wendtii. I have about 30-40% of my
75gal planted with this crypt. They don'y hug the substrate but I like the look of it. There are still holes that need to fill in. I will try to get a decent pick this morning for you. Biggest issue for me is they grow so slow |

I wanna do something like that on just one side of my 75, and with a mix of different crypt species.

the thicker areas create such a great maze/shelter for smaller fish

Micing different crypts in a clump looks messy for me. A nice clump of wendtii green looks great for me. I have a crypt wendtii green that stays small and low and very compact. I dont know why.
