Ludwigia inclination Cuba Meltdown

I have about ten different species of plants in my tank, my ludwigia inclinata "Cuba" just started rotting. Not just leaves, but stalks, too. No other plants. My temp is 79; pH 6.9. It's really a moot point now, as I had to cut the remains all out because it was fouling my circulating pump and, I would think, messing with the water due to all the rotting leaves...

Any feedback I could use to prevent this again? Or is is a melt like Crypts?

Thanks!

The same thing happens to my Ludwigia sp 'red' every once in a while. Its just one or two stems though. I thought it was due to phosphate and iron inside the plant? I searched Google and that's about all I could find. Basically the leaves and stems turn to brown mush!

That's it, on the nose. But qi had them all around the tank. When they started to go, wow what a mess!
