Segregated nano moss tank
Hey guys,
This should be my third and final tank journal thread here for a time. At least until I get my first apartment. I purchased another Deep Blue Professional tank (check my 18" in my signature) to do a divided tank for two Crays who do not get along. I originally had a hard time with the tank. The rim on it was nice, but extremely long, so my standard "nano" filter (Azoo Palm) did not fit on it. I finally decided what to do. I just started whittling away at the plastic. A note on the palm.. They updated their model to include 1: a prefilter 2: extra media. I'm very pleased with the update. I'll continue to update this. I plan on attempting to scape it tomorrow, along with seeding it with LOTS of media. Thanks for following along, Mark

So now that I finally got the tank modified to fit my filtration, I need to work on a light and my scape.
I know it needs work, and I did want to do different things, but I'm running out of brilliant scaping ideas.

I didn't go with the piece of driftwood in the right half of the tank, it was too bulky.
But I got the filter up and running, seeded material and the driftwood is just sinking now! Nothing left to do but wait. I'd really ask for light suggestions for this now!

Considering a light from eBay. Probably a beams works. Even though I know it will be long. Hmm

Isn't the Beamswork 300 a perfect fit for this tank?

Have you thought about going rimless on that tank? Also scaping that is gonna be a pain. There is no room for anything! Will the CPO's eat plants? If I recall they probably will, I am gonna be 0 help with this one lol.

Lmao. I'm just growing mosses in this one. Moss until it grows out the top.
I need the rim for the divider unfortunately. MABJ's iDevice used for this message :p

But yes... It has been TOUGH to scape.
I could think of some neat ideas utilizing super glue and dw. But I'd need lots of wood, carving knives, saws. Idk. Not worth it for this tank. I'll just let them do their thing. Fill it with fissidens and Xmas moss. MABJ's iDevice used for this message :p

Great question. Allow me to go measure.
I've got snails in here now helping the cycle, so let's hope in a week or so it is ready. MABJ's iDevice used for this message :p

Ok here are the dimensions.
8" x 4.75" x 8.25"H It is a cute little tank. I need to cut a black background for it. MABJ's iDevice used for this message :p

Well then even the small Beamswork fixture I have is still too big for that tank. That should be easy to cut the background for. I didn't know DBP made a tank that small.
