Looking for a Fish Club in Torrance/Los Angeles!

Searched online and I found "SCAPE" but I haven't signed up to be a member yet to find out if the meets are close.

I'm not necessarily looking for a big club to join I just found myself with some extra time on my hands and I'd love to hang out and meet with people in my area who have the same interests.

SCAPE is a great club. We do have a meet once a year at Lotus Aquarium in Lawndale, which I do believe is close to you. We meet at different locations every month hosted by members or sponsers. Then there is COAST, which meets every 1st Sunday of each month in Costa Mesa. Monthly speakers and great auction. There is also the SOCAL Killi club which meets in Seal Beach and Glendale area, alternates between the sites each month.

All of these are like 30 Miles plus. I really thought there were more clubs around. I guess not. When I had a reef tank I could find a dozen clubs in 5 miles but nothing for Freshwater..Really disappointing.

You could start a South Bay club and I would join since I live in San Pedro. There is no need to be disappointed, just be willing to put the time and work into what it takes. I am a member of SCAPE yet never attended a monthly meeting due to scheduling conflicts.

You could consider hosting a mini-meeting at your home and local SCAPE members could/would attend.

I would join also I'm in long beach. I have a brother that would also join. there's one club that meets in Costa mesa every Sunday but I forgot the name. It's too far for me if u want I can find out for u.

That is COAST which meets usually on the first Sunday of each month...

O... well there u have it. My mistake, some guy that sold me some shrimp said he was the president
But I didn't remember the name cuz it was bout six months ago.

nevermind i googled it. thats pretty cool he has a lot of stuff for sale. also its convinient for me because i live 10 minutes away so i dont have to pay for shipping

I bought from him 30 cherry 20 tiger shrimp and 6 assassin snails. Next AMA get some siemise algae eaters and some nerite snails.

I want to participate in a club that stays put!
am in WLA. i do not really have the time but i would be interested in a true Los Angeles Club.

SCAPE is great, if you like a traveling and have the time to do so. I travel like many of you during the week and frankly I do not know many people that-will travel 2-3 hours to get into the sticks for an auction.
I already pay the price for living in this rat race... why drive away from the metropolis?
That is why La club is needed.

If in fact you like to drive and I would highly recommend SCAPE, Especially if you're into shrimp.....
Its a shrimpers delight of a site.
