Buying shrimp from foreign countries?
I was wondering if it was legal to buy
shrimp from Vietnam, put them into carry-on and take them to the US by plane? I might just pay then ask them to ship to my address though. I prefer this way though, since it's much faster. Better than Express Shipping too. ( see what I did there? XD) |

Both are not legal. You need wild animal import license.
But you can try to put them in thermos bottle in baggage on your own risk |

Not going to risk it, my mom would kill me
of that happened LOL. I'll ask the store when I go to Vietnam if they could ship for me. Would you guys do priority shipping for Carbon Rilis? Vietnam-> California. They are 3$ each... And I just can't resist.... XD |

You need an importer/exporter license to ship/receive live plants or animals across seas.

These pants? are fancy.

It's illegal to get them in the mail too.
It's plain illegal to get shrimp from a foreign country other than to have them shipped via air cargo to a designated port of entry, inspected by a department of fish and wildlife officer, then inspected by a homeland security official. All of that requires hundreds of dollars, permits and an import bond. In other words, no you can not bring shrimp from a foreign country. |

Ok, and would this way work?
I ask the store in VN to send the shrimp to my LFS, since they have the license...? They have PRLs there for 8-15$ |

No, that won't work. Air cargo shipment to your nearest airport would cost at least a couple hundred dollars.
And most LFS are not licensed to import either, they buy their stock from a livestock importer. Even then they can't receive them via mail. You cannot mail any living organism across any border legally. There are good reasons for this law. If you want shrimp from Vietnam, you will need to hire a broker and pay the hundreds in shipping costs. Which is cheaper now, buying some 5 dollar PRL and paying 600 in shipping and brokerage, or buying 20 dollar prl already here and paying 20 dollars shipping. |

NO they have an EXPORTERS license...you need an IMPORTERS license (export means to ship out, import means to have shipped in).
