osmocote plus

So it seems to be the general consensus that Osmocote plus is the way to go. What is the difference that makes it so much better that other Osmocote products? any success stories with their other products?

I believe the main difference is that Osmocote Plus has trace nutrients, while the others just have NPK.

so if one were to add CSM+B dry fert into the DIY root tabs as well as regular osmocote then this would also suffice?

Difference in formulation.

Osmocote: 19-6-12
Osomocote +: 15-9-12 plus 9 other essential nutrients.

Osmocote Plus is also an order of magnitude more difficult to find. Not going to be at Lowes or HD...I had to travel to a farm coop 4 towns over for mine, and it's $18 for a jug.
