Stone's Do!Aqua Mini-s Setup

Hello All!
It's been a while since my last setup so I'm very excited to start this one. I'm using the same sand, filter, and light from my last setup, and a piece of driftwood from a nearby lake. I would have started it a lot sooner but I had to waterlog the wood which took about two months (and still isn't completely waterlogged yet). One upside to that though is a lot of the tannins were released during the process. Fingers crossed all of them have . I'm not sure on what fish I should get, frankly I haven't thought about it much at all. Thoughts?

That wood is rad. Since it'll take a while for the tank to establish itself, you'll have time to take out any more tannin that is released, and lots of time to think about fish .

Thanks! And yes that's a good point. I was thinking pygmy corys would be pretty cool, but I will use the cycling period to my advantage (like you say) and think on it.

Are you set on fish? How about shrimp? Neos do great in these small nano tanks!

I think the driftwood would provide a perfect escape route for the shrimp . It happened to my brother a couple times, and he didn't have as convenient of a piece of wood for getting out of the tank.

Default Plants Added!

Last night I picked up some narrow leaf java fern from a nearby pet store for $8. To be honest I'm really not sure of what I think about it right now. I think it may already be to big but I'm going to leave it there for now and see how it progresses. Since it was only $8 I can just throw it away if I don't like it (I didn't make any huge commitments). Any thoughts/comments would be highly appreciated!

Thanks!

(Sorry for low quality photos)
