Turning off CO2 at night

I have a small CO2 rig I just set up. Paintball canister with an ASA on/off, pressure gauge and needle valve, attached to a check valve, bubble counter, and diffuser. I want to turn the CO2 off at night to maintain a stable pH for my shrimp. Can I just turn off the CO2 via the ASA on/off and then turn it on in the morning? I wouldn't need to mess with the needle valve right?

That makes sense to me, the ASA is literally just on/off, just don't mess with the needle valve. But that's kind of a hassle. I'm sure ppl are going to say, just get a regulator, so I'll say it too. I got the aquatek for about $100 and it was a great investment.

I will upgrade the system down the road, but this set up was all I could afford. Well, a little more than I could afford actually but you know how this hobby goes.

You can pick up a solenoid for relatively cheap. That would allow you to control your CO2 flow via a timer.

Ah, thats the part i meant. I have a regulator with a solenoid, but all you are really looking for is a solenoid.
