I love the techno ghetto ingenuity of this light. I hope it didnt cost more than $35 to build. =) There's some decent lights out there that start at $48 for high out put t5 HO. The amount of time you save maybe worth the the few extra dollars spent. But I do have to admit that there's something satisfying about DIY.

now i wait til friday for my driftwood with a couple plants and sat for my plant package. Think i might go stir crazy waiting for them...

Lil update, snapped a pic before it cleared up and before i grabbed th floaters.
Left side will be filled with plants around the driftwood and the backround will have some stem plants behind the carpet, thinking some crypts in front of the powerhead.

Dont bury java ferns, attach to wood or small pieces of stone with thread or superglue if you want it on the substrate. On the right track, some more plantage will make it look a lot better too.
