crs whiteness

just wondering. my crystal white shrimps have done a molt lately and as they have been growing, they seem to be showing less whiteness or their whiteness is becoming less prevalent. is there something in the water such as kh or gh that would do this to them? how can i get it back or is it simply their genetics. i have 1 or 2 that are still very white

Some do that when they get older. It's normal. 2 of mine have lightened up over the last month. I panicked too but my friend told me that some of the low grade shrimp do that as they age.

They lose color from being stressed, or age. Usually if it's genetics they start white but as they grow, the places between the plates get clear. So they look almost striped.

Can anyone attest to some of the products from Borneo wild or mosura that claim to improve color?

Using food additives is only a temporary effect. Best to start with quality stock

Increase GH or TDS will help the colour, but too much of it makes molting harder/slower and impact breeding indirectly.
