135 gal
Wanting cheap but effective for lighting a 135 gallon tank.
72" x 18"w x 25" deep... would two 48" double bulb shoplights work ok? 32w t8 x2 x2 figure on overlapping them in the center. My menards has a fixture that's nice looking and will run either t8's or t12's for about $20 each right now. is this "enough" light? too much? they do carry 6700k bulbs at both Menards and Lowes here... so I'd think they would be the right color temp for plants. |

You would be likely to have good low light if you use a good shop light, like the diamond plate version, http://www.homedepot.com/p/t/2021929...9#.UPTisqGOi7M But, if you just use two bulb strip lights, made for under counter use, I doubt that you would have enough light. The difference is that the shop lights have reflectors and the strip lights don't.
