ok this is my new tank,
please let me know what you think? I know the gravel is gross blue and I have two spongebob characters that are totally cheesy but I love spongebob and the gravel well my tank is cycled and I don't want to disturb it...next tank though will NOT have coloured gravel hehehe. So for a total novice at planted tanks did I do ok? I like it and love watching it so I guess thats what matters most. Anyway the link to the site that it's posted on is. http://community.webshots.com/user/mintleopard101 |

Most of the plants look to be doing ok. Aside from ditching the gravel and Gary, the biggest thing I see that I would do is add some kind of background to the back of the tank. That would hide your filter and provide some contrast so that the plants stand out more. Personally I'm a fan of dark colors for the background.

you could put a thin layer of natural gravel over the blue

For my background a cheap way of doing this is by placing "weed stopper/barrier" on the back! It comes in rolls very cheap at home depot and is black. I just tape it on the back. This way if you ever want to use the back of the tank as the front (aka moving) you can. You also dont have to worry about paint etc. VERY SIMPLE.
