Ramshorns and Bettas

I have a 5g divided for a male and female Betta. Many months ago I threw several pea sized Ramshorns in to help with the Algae. All but 2 are gone but these 2 are almost quarter sized. I see egg patches all over the tank but no babies, I am assuming the bettas are eating them since they are FDH on very minimal food.

I have a male that will hunt any small snails I put in with him so I wouldn't doubt your betta may be eating the babies.

Every betta has a vastly different personality.

I had a betta who suddenly decided to eat shrimp, and one who snuggled with them almost.

You never know.

Comparatively, their jaws are stronger than a great white shark, so I have no doubt they could crush a newer shell.
