Driftwood Driving Me Mad!!!

All right, I didn't get the driftwood yet, just that finding the perfect ones for my needs are DRIVING ME MAD!!!!

I'm looking for the branchy varieties, Amano uses lots of these kinds... You know pale when dry and darker when wet... I'm actually looking for several smaller driftwood pieces that could be put together to form one large branchy piece. I checked out Florida Driftwoods but they have PRICEY ones that don't look that good...

Is it like Amano can just get the ones he needs on demand!?

By the way collecting isn't an option for me, can't find a large enuff source of water for MILES... there's one small polluted stream with a bunch of terrestrial twigs, I doubt I can scavenge anything out of that.

Try looking on www.manzanita.com, "Sticks & Staffs," "Sandblasted." Branchy hardwood, good for aquascaping.

Here is a tank by Gomer using manzanita: http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=16470

Here is a tank by Luis Navarro using manzanita: http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/f...ead.php?t=9052

Here are some pics of pieces of manzanita from manzanita.com: http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/f...ead.php?t=4417

Really wish I knew manzanita was tank-safe before I set my tank up. I love manzanita.... Thank you for inspiration for my next tank corydoras.

No prob, Navaros. I'm also planning to use manzanita on my next tank.

An updated thread on Gomer's tank: http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/f...ead.php?t=5994

Another Luis Navarro tank using manzanita: http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/f...ead.php?t=7174
