Amano with white tail?
I have two amano shrimp in my 5G planted tank, and overnight one of them molted (not sure which). Today, the larger one has a white tail and isn't moving much. Once in a while it looks like its trying to kick its tail off. The other amano in the tank looks fine. Can anyone provide any insight as to what is going on?

Update: I have confirmed it was this shrimp that molted the night before I noticed the white tail (the only other two shrimp in the tank both molted last night). The affected shrimp is moving around more today which appears to be a good sign, however I will post an update with the ultimate outcome for anyone who may come across this in the future.
Update Jan 18: While this shrimp is a little lethargic (I've had a nitrite spike the last couple days) it's tail has been back to normal for a couple of days now. Not sure what that was all about but it's okay now. Last edited by tomciu; 01-18-2013 at 05:44 PM.. Reason: Status update |
