lighting for 150 gallon
I have a 5'x2'x2' tank im running co2.I am wanting to upgrade the lighting,now I have 4 65watt power compact 2 6500k and 2 10000k.I also have a diy fixture with 4 45watt cfl 6500k.So my question is to get to high light would 6 54 watt 6500k t5ho put me there or would I need 8 54 watt 6500k t5ho.Or maybe stay with the power compact and add 4 or 6 t5ho 54 watt.I am wanting to get the red plants to be all they can be.By the way I dose daily with pps pro.Looking forward to your in put thanks in advance

With the width of the tank I would go with 6 bulbs BUT have them hanging so you can adjust the height above the tank and if you have 3 cords so you can run 2, 4 or 6 bulbs that would be ideal. Hope you have a super duper CO2 reactor and loads of circulation in the tank as well and be ready to up the fertilizer dosing!

My reactor does a great job my drop checkers stay green almost yellow.Now for the bad part I really cant hang them over the aquarium it has a canopy so its kind of a trade off with the wife.She really wants the space its taking up but as long as it looks kind of like furniture she doesn't say much.The canopy is about 6"tall so if I can mount the light in the top it will pick me up some room.When I get the higher light I will probably go to the ei method.
