i have my spray bar vertical in the back right corner of my tank with the holes facing the side of the tank. it seems too work fine except somtimes my filter pumps a little air instead of water resulting in a spray of bubbles....why does it do this? its a xp3.

Sometimes air gets in your intake and after a while will spit out of the filter. Ensure your intake is away from heavily pearling plants or away from a source of air bubbles. Also on filter cleaning you may get some air in the XP...this will exit in its own time...sometimes a couple of days later.....Just my observations...

This could be caused by an airleak anywhere on the inlet side of the pump, or, if this happens only in the afternoons, could have something to do with O2 saturation of the water. The latter is just a theory, but this is what happens in my case... found nothing to resolve that yet.
