Cleaning chrome plated regulators
I didn't find this anywhere through searching but thought I'd mention for those of you who have chrome plated brass regulators. If you want to shine up your chrome, a balled up piece of wet aluminum foil wonders for removing any grime from the chrome. Just be sure to move the foil to a new part so any impurities removed don't affect the finish.

Why not use chrome polish? Super cheap and works well. If you are just doing your regulator, a $4 bottle should last you a life time.

I should've specified that it works really well for getting any crud off of used regulators and was something everyone likely had around the house. I recently got a $25 dual stage off e b a y and the regulator and gauges had some build up all over them. As far as maintenance of the chrome, I would agree with the chrome polish.
