differnt type of diy co2

Hey everyone,
I go to SUNY Envrinmental Science and Forestry and I for the tank in my dorm I want to add co2, but I don't have a lot of room. I had this idea of getting a co2 fiz tablet and putting it into a bottle of water. After letting it dissolve I was just going to add it to the water.

Let me know if you all think this is a good idea or I'm just going to end up adding carbonic acid to my tank.

It's not a good idea. It will give you a large burst of CO2 and thing nothing. No control either. And I think you would find it would be a PITA and expensive. If your tank is not that large then just order a bottle of Excel.
