Has
Just wanted to let everybody know that the local aquarium club here has really impressed me. Not only was I welcomed as soon as I got there but I walked away with a beautiful lotus from cousinkenny, but I won a few nice crypts in the auction. Too all that haven't joined or looked in to coming, think about it, you will not be disappointed.
regards

Great to here that you enjoyed yourself. Ken is the man, he can grow anything. It must be his understanding of aqueous carbon
Our club is pretty good, there is A LOT of knowledge and experience, we even have members who are pioneers in the hobby (not just locally, but Internationally) I wanna know who scored the 2 SUPER DUPER SECRET GOODIE BAG AUCTIONS... |

For the Plant Goodie bag, wayne and I were in a bidding war. He finally walked away with it. For the fish goodie bag, I am not sure.
Aaron seriously though, what were in each? If you are going to the board meeting, maybe we can chat then. Later, KT |

Cryptocoryne usteriana, a pretty big one. I think Chuck added a group of Xiphophorus montezumae (big ass swordtails!)
The fish bag had a pair of wild Scleromystax sp. (I think c112) Some pretty good stuff... I'm not saying what next month will be, but it will go down in history as the greatest mystery auction of all time. |

Where else in the world does one get 4 macrostomas for 35 bucks??? If that is not the greatest deal in auction history, I don't know what is.
Ken, I began this hobby as a kid with Bettas. As for the wild species, I kinda always wanted to give them a shot ever since I was introduced to a few of them. Finally made the jump when they started becoming available over a year ago. My goal for my next planted tank is to make it conducive for a community of different bettas. The only junk part about it is it can't be open top... |

Ok, I have to admit it really stinks to hear all the deals from the auction when I couldn't be there.
See everyone next month

...So I shouldn't tell you about the 2 giant bags of Rotala sp. vietnam that Ken and I got for a few bucks?
To end the year right, the mystery auction box for November is going to be a package deal that will have enough fish and plants to set up a 20 gallon!!! Yup, that's right! You heard it here first! |

The website sucks. With no webmaster in three years, I'm surprised it is still up. Better you just come and join us at the next meeting in January.
And if you missed it, here's a list of what was in the grand finale of mystery auctions: fish: Apisto cacatuoides "gold orange flash" Apitso borelli "blue gold Pantanal" Procatopus nototaenia " aberrans Barbus barilioides (fire barbs) Bathyaethiops caudomaculatus (african moon tetras) plants: Aponogeton boivianus " madagascariensis Crypt. cordata blassii " wendtii Myriophyllum aquaticum Sagitteria "shoe string" a monster mat of HC Echinodorus tennellus "micro" " "compacta" " "horemanni red" Hygrophila salicifolia Nymphoides aquatica and a glass diffuser That kid who won it will need a battery of 20's to house all that loot! |
