DD is what you want for freshwater (2 rows of 'daylight' white) The others are usually used for saltwater as they have high intensity actinic blue added.

also - are you injecting Co2? how big is your tank?
The Ray2 is very powerful, have you also seen the Fugeray? Looks the same, but cheaper and lower power.

Whoops! I was off a little, I guess DS or DD would be good, DS would give "richer" colors, DD would be brighter, crisp white. I would suggest the DS

Thanks for the help. I have a 26 gallon bowfront that is 21" high. No CO2. Should I look at the Fugeray?

Fugeray is actually too low since 26 bowfronts are almost 22 inches high. I would go for the rayII to have more plant options. I was going to upgrade to ray II, but now I decided just to upgrade the tank lol

OK, thanks. Ive pretty much decided on the RayII now to decide on DS or DD.
