red melon sword

I have a red melon sword in the background of my 90g. 3 t5h0 bubls 1 inch from the top of the tank. EI ferts. I have had it for several months and it hasn't gotten too tall. Will this plant get tall enough to be a true background plant?

No... red melons (E. x barthii) are excellent mid-ground plants. Perhaps you are mixing it up with 'Red Rubin'?

I have a red melon sword that is 18 inches tall and 15 inches wide in my 150g. Not a full as the Amazon sword but I wouldn't put it up front. LOL!

I used to have a large red melon sword in my 55g.Sold
It grew to 15-16 inches "tall" and 10 inches wide.
Sword plants are "root "feeders.
Root tabs will help it grow better and taller.

thanks guys. I do root tabs too. I will definitely give it more time. I hope it doesn't get too wide! I really didn't leave a lot of room on the sides for it to grow wide
