Brand new here, but my first tank had a stainless steel frame.
Hi guys, the folks over at Reef Central recommended you for good freshwater information. I've been slowly returning to the hobby after a number of years with only one neglected tank and my things have changed! I have a 55 gal (the neglected one) mostly SA planted tank that has been running for about 30 years. I've kept aquaria of all types over about 50 years, working in pet shops to support my habit and I even did a stint as President of the Worcester, MA Aquarium Society.
I've been populating a 150 planted tank that I started about 6 months ago. Pretty low tech, but I did just build my own DIY CO2 generator out of a mayonnaise jar and darned if it didn't start working after about a week. I'm glad to be here and I hope you can answer my fool questions! Here is a picture of the 150. Sorry, my camera phone is almost as old as I am.

welcome to TPT! I have to say, I am in love with the driftwood in that tank, I'm going to start looking for something like that when I go "hunting" along the rivers!

The piece that's harder to see over to the left actually has more character, but it is not a impressive as the big piece. All the driftwood is out of a lake in Maine. I collect some each year. The largest piece is about 5 feet long, took two people to lift and displaced about 3" of water from the 150. It JUST fits, and would be too tall for the 125 I almost used for this setup.
