Has anyone used the power compact 65watt catalina or odyssea and if so what bulbs did you use for planted tank.I can get the 10000k or the 6500k or a plant bulb.I was thinking about the 6500k and maybe the plant bulb or should I go with the 6500k and 10000k or all 6500k.

I use the 6500k and plant bulb together in my set up. I don't like the color of either individually but together they work very well. It gives a white light that makes reds really pop. Be advised that this is all a matter of taste, though.

Which brand did you use and how are the plants growing

I have Catalina A fixtures t5ho single 6500k bulb in combination with Finnex LED.
+1 to the previous poster- definitely a matter of taste.

Is the plant bulb a red or yellow or more in the line of a 10000k

I'm using the catalina setup and the plants are growing fine. That said, I'm hardly challenging myself: bacopa austrailis, sagittaria subulata, anubias barteri var. barteri and vals.

With co2 the bacopa need trimming every two weeks. Generally, things grow at a stately pace for me, but ymmv. Definitely problem free with easy growers in my 54 gallon.
