Shrimp eggs
I am a newbie with shrimp! Do they berry up without mating, or only after mating? I mean, do they lay unfertilized eggs, like a chicken, or only fertilized eggs?

You will see females carry eggs when they mate only. You will notice their little yellow saddle in their back will disappear then soon eggs will show up. I do not think they ever lay without fertilization, they just carry them in their ovary until they mate. After eggs appear I believe it will be 2-3 weeks until they hatch.
You should ask your shrimp questions over in the invert section of the board. |

In some occasions, they will have unfertilized eggs, as mine did 3 weeks ago, and they end up dropping them.

That may be what happened here too! I don't see anything tiny yet! But that doesn't mean they aren't lurking in the moss!
