Question

Chiefstons 6g Edge dilemma

Hey all, I'm at a crossroads here with my 6gal Edge. I did a standard me thing, and went overboard when I found this great looking tank. I could not just have any old edge, I needed it to be a high light tank! So, I went and upgraded the lights with 4 cree xp-gs (as seen in my sig) and added aquasoil, co2, and some HC. Lately, I have been getting disgusted fighting this tank.

Its basically impossible to get good flow with the HOB, as when you turn up the flow it blows the substrate out from the front of the tank. If you lower the flow, you end up with algae. Also, the corners of the tank get very little light, and to combat this, you must turn up the light intensity. This causes algae.

So, my dilemma is whether I should scrap this tank and just go low-tech. If I do this, then I wanna get a new tank (preferably rimless goaqua or ada if I'm feelin rich) and make that my high-tech. On one hand, I wanna fight through and conquer this tank. I think the final result could be worth it. On the other hand, this tank is made for lowlight setups, and it will always be a struggle to keep it looking good as setup.

So, what do you all think?

P.S. Also, feel free to comment on my setup, I could use some advice here as well

Use a canister filter with a diy spray bar so you get even flow everywhere?

I've thought about it, but general consensus is that w/ the small opening on the edge, a HOB is necessary for oxygen exchange.
But... With all the plants pearling, maybe O2 levels would be enough?
