Used just semi-gloss black spray paint. just make sure you clean the glass really well first and tape everything off really really good so that you don't get any overspray on the sides/front!
Thanks for the compliments on the tank! |

Ok here we are with some new pictures of the final setup...I think... I have new plants in the foreground, narrow leaf chain sword. I have 8 German Blue Rams, and another SAE. I finished the doors on the stand and have those on as well. Thanks for looking!

Little update, my chain sword is coming in nice and thick and I am slowly picking out new plants and filling in the opposite side. Starting to get the nana vals to fill in well along the back. None of the pearl gouramis or gbr's have paired off yet. Assassin snails are getting some good work done, there are empty pond snail shells everywhere. Thinking of adding some amano shrimp and calling it complete.... Does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks for looking!

I think once CO2 is running on my tank I might invest in some chain sword, it looks very nice in your tank.

Here is the latest and greatest photo of the tank. Once the right side folks in with the narrow leaf chain sword it should look great! Also, i made my own light stand using 1/4in plexiglass. Just glued them up with some epoxy. Worked great and looks good i think. Anyone having any thoughts about the addition if some amano shrimp? Current livestock is:

Just thought i would show a couple more pictures of the custom light stand that i made for the tank. I have decided to give some amano shrimp a go next time i am at the lfs as well.

So i got the amano shrimp the other day and they have all disappeared... I haven't found any bodies so I'm guessing someone had a feast... Now u am left no choice but to get another tank for a shrimp haven.

Are those rams in the picture the ones you got from matt13? How long did it take them to color up like that? Really liking your tank!

Wow, they look great for being in there for only a month. Do you still have all 8? And i assume the gourami's got those amanos sadly, cuz they are really cool shrimp to watch.

Yeah the amanos did disappear and i never found any bodies... Looks like i might have to get a nano shrimp tank. The GBR's have been in there for a little over a 2 months i think... And i lost two, one disappeared, no body was ever recovered. The other lost a fight with a parasite and i am still trying to fix that problem.

Good news! I moved my tank into my new home and low and behold all three amano shrimp are alive and fat! Once almost all the water was out i found them freaking it in the corner! I had not seen them in 4 weeks since i put them in there. I guess i will just have to get more! On a bad note, lost another ram to hith parasite... I am thinking its from letting the tank go for 2 weeks without touching it while I was moving... Hopefully the last 5 stay healthy, they look great so we well see.

Last night two of my GBR's decided it was time to make some babies and now we have some hopefully fertile eggs! This is the first time that i have seen anyways, so we will see if they last. Its a community tank, with assassin snails, SAE's, pearl gouramis, and a couple others that I am sure would like a snack... Any advice on how to go about giving these guys the best chance of survival would be awesome! Here are a few pictures:

Well the first GBR spawn went as expected, the father ate the eggs yesterday i believe. Maybe they will start greeting the hang of things next time around. Still planning on getting some more amano shrimp for the tank. Hopefully sometime this week.
