can pinocchio shrimp breed with other caridina?

I know the pinocchio shrimp is a Caridina genus so it should be able to interbreed with other Caridina. I wanted to put some into my new shrimp tank. I have some now as algae eaters in my larger tank. They do a great job and have not kicked the bucket yet even with rams, tetras, and honeycomb catfish in the tank.

I do know that the pinocchio shrimp cannot breed in freshwater since the offspring need saltwater to survive. But can they breed with say a tiger shrimp and create offspring that way?

My gut says no breeding is possible but I'd like to see what other people think or know for certain.

Amano shrimp are also in that same genus and require saltwater to breed, and they don't interbreed with other Caridina species, so I don't think pinnochio shrimp will either. The taxonomy of some of these creatures we keep in aquaria can be rather fuzzy, so I wouldn't put too much importance on the same genus factor if they're morphologically not all that similar.

Nah it won't interbreed. Typically caridina larvae breeders cant and won't interbreed with non larvae breeders.
