Trying to decide on plants
I'm setting up a 20L shrimp tank. I'm having a large piece of wood as my focal point with some small rocks around it. It's a low tech tank, I guess. I'll have high light (I can choose between 2 t12, 2 t8, or 2t5 depending on what I'll need or want). But I won't be dosing CO2 or using fertilizers. I will be using ADA Amazonia New.
I want a carpet plant and also a plant that will grow over the wood. I really like fissidens fontanus and want that as either the wood covering plant or the carpet. If I use Fissidens as a carpet are there other plants besides mosses that will cling to wood? Other wise I am thinking fissidens on the wood and minuta as a carpet. Will this work? Will other plants work better? |

check out Hoppy's lighting thread and attempt to get you your PAR around 50-60. At that level I am able to grow dwarf hair grass and marsilea minuta. I would also suggest a dry start because carpeting plants take forever to spread without CO2 snd it's a lot easier to keep them rooted that way too.
