crs egg color?
when i first got my crs a little over a yr ago i had them all in the same tank. in feb i got some fss and move all i could catch to that tank with the lower ph. now i have 2 tanks going with the original shrimp i have never added any new shrimp to either tank. funny thing is i was lookin in the tank in my room the other day and the eggs on them are kinda orange like tiger shrimp eggs. the ones in the small tank in the computer room have red eggs. any one know why they would be 2 different colors? i do know the one with red eggs has red leggs so could that have something to do with it? i will get pics when i see them again

Eggs unfortunately are a poor predictor of anything lol....like neos who will have different colors based on batch and such....I assume its the same with CRS.

Isn't their something different about the eggs if they are going to be TB hybrids though? Thought I read something on here not too long ago about that.

Egg color hasn't been proven to indicate anything as of yet. I haven't heard anything about TiBees and different egg color indicators. If anyone has input, that would be awesome!

You're right but I can't remember the specifics (and can't seem to find it via searching).

Not talking about Tibees, talking about Taiwan Bees. Tibee= Tiger Bee

Tb usually take longer to mature to birth, so I would assume with mischlings that have the potential to have a TB, you will see a few eggs stick out as being different colored than the rest, when they may or not be different colored but just maturing slower, so when the eggs that are going to be normal CRS/CBS/Golden or other mischlings start to go clear and the eyes form, the eggs that will be a WR/Panda/BB, etc are still going to appear dark and thus stand out. I don't think it's really different colored egg's as much as a slower maturation people see with hybrids, so if you are keeping TB/CRS hybrids and see a few eggs that appear different color, they are going to be TB but I don't think it's "special colored eggs", just a slower egg development.
As to the OP, and as said, it usually doesn't mean anything. I've had Fire reds with yellow, green and even black eggs and they all gave black fire red babies. I've had my caridina's have orangish or even bright red eggs. Here is one of my goldens with bright red eggs. She just have off golden/snow, and crs babies. Nothing special.

I have a CRS that is berried right now and the eggs appear black. Like previously posted, once they're born, you know their color for sure. I was scared too the first time one of my yellows had dark eggs. All kiddos were yellow though.

That F1 is so cool!
I did find one thread where Mordalphus said blue eggs = BKK when it comes to hybrid eggs Still can't find the thread I'm thinking of though. Dangit.
