3g Aquascape Shrimp Nano

Hi all!

I'm new to the forum (though I skulk here and there reading all the great threads and getting lots of inspiration!).

I'm trying my hand at putting together a aquascaped 3g nano shrimp tank. Pictures attached.

My questions:

Right now I'm using the yucky factory light it came with, but was looking to upgrade to a better light. But I'm also poor, so it has to be cheap (lol!). Do you think the
Fluval Mini Compact Lamp 13w Fluval Mini Compact Lamp 13w
would work to give me med-high light? I'd like to have my options open for plants that'll fit in the tank.

Next, can you give me feedback/critique on my layout? Right now it's got riverrock in the back, with flame moss in the crevices, hygro difformis in the corners (mostly as a placeholder to soak up my ammonia while I cycle it), and micro sword that will hopefully end up being my carpet.

No shrimp yet (that'll come once my water levels are perfect), and minimal ferts right now. Trying to feel out what I need to do.

Thanks for all your advice! =D

PS: Ignore the white bio media... I didn't have room in my filter for them, so they're just hanging out at the bottom until I can get a back for them... >.>

I like your layout. The stepping of the river rock is very attractive.
