Before and after unpotting crypts...
I separated the potted crypt and replaced the old HOB filter with a sponge filter. Its been 2 days with no melt whatsoever.

I prefer plants in pots because the pots and the substrate in them keep the roots safer for moving rather than just pulling a plant out of a substrate and destroying (or ruining) more roots(I've had some bad experiences).
