Switching to dry ferts: some questions
So I finally decided to switch to dry ferts, and ordered the following:
KNO3 - 1 Pound KH2PO4 - 1/2 Pound K2SO4 - 1 Pound Plantex CSM + B - 1/2 Pound Iron Chelate 11% DPTA - 1/2 Pound GH Booster - 1 Pound My tank is 50 gal, low light, CO2 injected, and moderately planted. After reading the "Sticky" by Wasserpest, here's the dosing regime that I thought I would follow: Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 1/2 Tsp-KNO3, 1/8 Tsp-KH2PO4, 1/8 Tsp-K2SO4 Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday: 1/8 Tsp-Trace Sunday: 50% H20 change, 3/4 Tsp-GH booster Does this sound about right? About how long will the ferts last with this schedule? When and how much Iron Chelate do I dose? Last edited by kperera; 01-05-2013 at 12:45 AM.. Reason: Added another question. |

If that is the standard EI dosing, then it looks about right.
The fertilizers should last at least half a year. I would just start dosing EI with everything but the iron chelate first. If you are noticing an iron deficiency, then you can dose it. Instructions for dosing the iron chelate can be found in the same thread where you found your initial information.
