two 20g one light

I was going to set up two planted 20 gallon tanks side by side, and I was going to use an old coral life 48" t5 ho dual bulb, as the light, but then did the math and wouldnt the WPG be over 5 and thatd be a little too much or is that still do able, or should i just get a t8 4 foot light

Wpg is not an accurate way of measuring light.it is a myth. Especially not with t5ho's. Light is measured by par. I don't know what dual t5's would put out in your situation but I would be way to high. Unless you mounted them over a foot above the tank. (assuming you have 20l tanks wich I believe are 12" tall here's a chart that hasn't failed me when lighting tanks with t5's
