Wooohoo 40B approved!

So excited! My wife gave me approval to get a 40B!! She thought I was wasting electricity on my nano since I only had a ghost shrimp and a few pond snails in there. So I suggested how about if I get a bigger tank and combine the two. She said ok!

20L is all cleaned and ready to sell to the LFS.

Stand is widened and ready for the new tank + a new 8L bag of aqua soil.

For now I got all my fish and a few plants crammed in to my 10g tank. The rest of my plants are in buckets all around the house. Got 2 filters running so they should be ok till they get their new home.

What kind of soil are you using?

Its a mix of a bunch of different aqua soils. Most of it is Kotobuki, some if the really dark stuff is GEX, and the lighter colored stuff in the front was in a bag that wasn't labeled. I think that was the LFS own brand.

New equipment! Mix Max co2 reactor. Works great with my DIY co2. Doesn't need high pressure.

That 40b looks very well built! The silicone is nice and thick and it seems like very thick glass. Better than the ones I found around here.

diy co2 not worth it at all. If its a temporary on budget thing then sure. I did diy for like a year, not worth it.

Hope you are dosing nutrients as well. Your tank looks beautiful and very clean. Hope all goes well.

I was lucky I got a deal on it. The LFS was sold out of the cheap 40b tanks so they took apart a box set 40b and just sold me the tank for almost the same price as the cheap ones. I saved around $30 if I were to buy this tank separately.

I'm still looking for a place to get cheap co2 over here. All the stuff at the LFS over here will average about $15~$20 a month just for co2.
