125G South American Habitat

Thought I'd show you all my show tank before I start a thread on my planted tank that is currently in the works. It is a South American Cichlid habitat that has been up and running for a couple of years. It has had plants over the years, but currently is pretty sparse when it comes to plants.

Setup:
125g
Penn Plax 1500
T8 Strip lights
150 # of pool filter sand for substrate
TONS of drift wood

Fauna:
Pair of Jack Dempsies
1 - Tiger Oscar
1 - Chocolate Cichlid
6 - Convict Cichlids that are constantly breeding
1 - Pleco

Former Flora:
Anacharis from the garden pond
Lily plant also from the garden pond (This did really well until the female Jack Dempsy dug it up)
Dwarf Lily (Also was dug up)
Random Stemmed pond plants I caught while fishing at my friend's farm (these are still alive!)

Thanks! The driftwood was a great find. I actually have a third piece sitting on my patio that is too big to fit in the tank. It is more like a stump. Anyways these pieces took quite a while to get them to sink, but it was worth the wait.

My pleco really cleaned them up when we removed him from the pond at the end of the summer. Whomever said that plecos stop eating algae when they mature was wrong. This guy is a machine!

lol - if you lived closer, I'd come cruising around in the middle of the night looking for that wood on your porch

Hah! Well it is going to require a pretty big tank! I figure if it won't fit in my 125 it won't fit in yours either.. haha
