I have aquatops and eheims. I am replacing all my aquatops with eheims when I have enough money 3 more to go. But I might do a sump for one on my 55 gallon discus planted community tank. I have 3 eheim 2215 and 3 2213. I love them best canisters made

I found AqAdvisor's 'real life' filter flow ratings telling. And it pretty much is my personal experience with AquaTop vs Ehem. I am certainly biased, as is obvious from my previous thread on AquaTop vs Eheim same day comparison.

I had a Eheim Pro II and I hated it. When I upgraded to my 75 gallon I got rid of it and went with 2 Aquatop cf 500 w/uv. I love them. Only issue I had was a oily film on the surface of the water, which I have never had an issue with before. Problem solved with a diy surface skimmer over one of the outlet pipes.
