A Little Bit Smaller Now
Not going for any fancy 'scaping, just having fun seeing how small a planted "tank" I can keep healthy and growing.
Flora: dwarf baby tears, star grass, frogbit. Fauna: 1x juvie rams horn snail It's far too small for any ordinary stock--even the ramshorn will eventually have to be switched out as it gets too large--but giving serious consideration to hunting up another damselfly larvae to add. Had one in my scud/daphnia jar but a water beetle that came in with my last plant acquisition gobbled 'im up. (water beetle since captured and released back into the wild from whist he came!) [IMG] |

Details, man! What lighting have you got? CO2 rates? Dosing?
:P That's pretty neat. I might have to put one like that on the desk at work. |

My tiniest tank got a complete overhaul thanks to a rampaging cat. Replanted about four days ago. Unintentionally hosting a very tiny baby cherry shrimp that hitch-hiked in with a clipping.

let us know if the shrimp makes it. I also recently setup something tiny like this. Its a micro planted bowl, except i am starting it out with a wabi kusa ball thing with a bunch of random plants(its also starting out emersed.) Yours is much smaller than mine though. is yours on a window sill like mine?

So far the shrimplet is doing great. Found a molted skin yesterday and the little bugger is constantly scooting around picking at plants. Only adding feed--a microbit of flake food--1x weekly. Eventually I'll just submerge the whole glass in another vase and see if I can coax him out, but given his pinhead size, no hurry. |
