Is there any reason that you would want to go to a smaller aperture at f/16 or f/22, instead of f/8? As far as tank shots are concerned you can still get by at f/8. Here's a shot of a buddy's tank taken at a f/stop of 5.6 (4x55W over a 100 gallon), which is a bit blown in certain areas (e.g. sand).
Same tank, taken at the same aperture, but with -EV to compensate.
